Membership Information

As a Guest, you can browse the NASSA Sale Site as much as you like. However, if you want to add your own listings to the site, you will need to become a Member. NASSA membership (as well as membership in the NASSA Database Search Site) is a prerequisite for membership in Sale Site. A fee is charged for annual Sale Site membership. Sheep and/or Fiber Listings can be added for no additional fees, but the total number of sale listings is limited based on the type of membership you have. See below for details. Be sure to read about our free Trial Membership Offer below.

Benefits of Membership

When you become a Member of the Sale Site, you add your Farm Information to our database and it will then be shown on the Farm Listings pages.  Your link from the Farm Listings page will show your personalized Farm Information page with your contact information, your farm description, two to three pictures, and a link to a Sheep Listings page showing the sheep you have listed for sale on the site (if any.)  If you have any Fiber Listings, your Farm Info page will also have a link to a page showing your Fiber Listings.  As a Member, you can add Sheep and/or Fiber listings up to the limit your membership type allows (see Membership Types and Fees below.)  You can use our online forms (from the Members Area) to add/update your listings at any time. Any site Guest can browse the Farm Listings, Sheep Listings, and Fiber Listings and review your information.

If you choose to list sheep for sale, you will provide some basic information using our online forms. Information from the NASSA online database is incorporated into the forms, so if you are listing a registered sheep, the registry data will be retrieved for use in your listing (assuming that the sheep was not added after the last update from the registry, which is approximately quarterly.) Pedigree and progeny reports are linked to the sheep sale listings. This pedigree/progeny information can be very helpful to potential buyers of your sheep, allowing them to peruse detailed information about your sheep many generations back.  Potential buyers can easily browse through the pedigrees of all the sheep listed on the site to find specific bloodlines or characteristics in your sheep's background.

Membership Types and Fees

The Sale Site charges minimal fees for the listing service.  We want to make the service affordable, but we do need to receive some compensation for the setup and maintenance work as well as the cost of hosting the site. We are currently offering three levels of membership:

How to Become a Member

To become a Member, complete our online membership form with the following information:

After you have completed your online new member information form, your basic membership account will be automatically created and you will be directed to a page where you can add your Farm Listing details:

See the current Farm Information pages for examples for what your page will look like.

Sheep and Fiber Listings

To add a sheep to the Sheep For Sale listings, go to the 'Manage Listings' page (in the Members Area) and click the '... add a new Sheep Listing' link.  You can then use the online forms to provide the following information:

Adding a Fiber Listing is similar, but simpler, since the registration information is not used in the Fiber Listing. You just need to provide the basic information about the fiber (color, type, amount, price) some notes and a picture.

Methods of Payment

We accept checks, VISA, or MasterCard (US funds) for payment of membership fees.  When you click the 'Renew' link for your membership you will be guided through the payment process.  You will be given the option of paying either with a check (by mail) or with your VISA/MasterCard using our secure online forms.  (Secure means that the information sent across the internet between your computer and our server is encrypted, making it virtually impossible for your credit card information to be stolen.)  If you are still uncomfortable paying with your credit card online, you can select the 'pay by check' option and call us to pay with your credit card by phone.

We will send you a receipt by US mail after receiving payment.
